		<description>Everytime I read a story like this I get upset. I agree with SmartDogs, get a shredder that does sense when a hand or paw gets near it and shuts off. As for me, I always unplug my shredder when I am not using it and put it in the closet. My dog has yet to master open the closet door, drag it out and turn on the shredder. Of course then again, my dog barks crazy at it.</description>

		<description>We&#039;ve got a shredder that&#039;s made to be kid safe.  It shuts off the instant (and I mean nanosecond) flesh touches it.  I do not know how they do this - but it&#039;s cool.

But - even though I *know* it&#039;s safe (I&#039;ve tested it on my hands a bunch of times) I keep it unplugged the 99% of the time it&#039;s not in use.</description>
